To have a web site and associated email accounts you first need to register a unique domain name e.g. your_business_name.com or your_business_name.co.uk
Frontback can register the name for you and provide services for web site hosting and email accounts for that domain name. The domain name would be yours not ours - we would simply manage it for you.
Our Domain Name Services (DNS) would for example map www.your_business_name.co.uk to one of our servers holding the web pages for your web site.
Email accounts can be set up unique to your domain name e.g your_name@your_business_name.co.uk to give a more professional preception than for example your_account@btinternet.com or your_account@hotmail.com.
Email accounts can be POP3, IMAP or Microsoft Exchange based. The latter two provide richer services better suited to business. All these accounts can be accessed from email clients such as Microsoft Outlook on your PC. Email can also be additonally accessed via web mail suitable when out of the office. Additonally you may want to have your email accessible on your mobile phone or Blackberry.
Web sites can be hosted either on servers running Microsoft Windows 2003 or a Linux Operating system. For most sites this choice will be arbitary, however the web designer may have made use of additional technologies such as ASP or PHP that would indictate that the website would be better served from a Windows or a Linux Operating system
